About Memory Makers Art Prize
It is our mission to raise awareness and support for the care of people in our community with dementia, support dementia research and to recognise the creative talent of artists across the region who with their creativity are providing the platform for discussion and connection.
Memory, insight and perspective are essential for creativity. We use the significant connection between art, nature and health to engender a community focus and commitment towards Dementia research and supporting local care services.
The exhibition title ‘Memory Maker’s’ encompasses the theme we ask all artists to draw upon when submitting their entries.
This theme highlights the importance of our memories and how they influence our creativity and view of the world. Those living with Dementia loose their memories, their views to the world and connection.
With over $5000 in prize money it offers an attractive incentive for artists to tap into their memories and create a connection with the audience.
Your hosts for the Memory Makers Art Prize are local artists Lorraine Holland and her daughter Laura Holland.
